It’s been an exciting year for us at Northland Residential. We’ve introduced a new model home at Village at Old Main in Falmouth, Massachusetts. We continue to finalize the details for two new townhome communities in Wellesley and Milton. And, now we’re pleased to announce our final home on Washington Street in Wellesley went under agreement.
The Washington Street project began in 2017 when Northland was chosen by Wellesley College to develop a choice parcel of land on the periphery of Wellesley Square. Our challenge was to build five new homes that would fit within the fabric of the neighborhood.
In doing so, we painstakingly thought through the design elements of each home to ensure they would both harmonize with the historic character of the neighborhood and present a fresh take on modern living. Our fifth and final home at 636 Washington Street was no exception.
Last in the collection on Washington Street, we worked with an award-winning architectural firm, Union Studio, to design the “grand finale” – the generational story of a one-and-a-half story cottage and carriage house joined by a single story “addition”.
With its steeply pitched rooflines, expansive front porch, a mix of casement and bay windows, and a brick chimney, the exterior of the home captures elements reminiscent of both Shingle-style and Tudor architecture.
The interior layout seamlessly adapts to today’s lifestyle with a ready connection between the Kitchen, Dining Area, Living Room, and Covered Porches. The first-floor master suite with vaulted ceiling, sitting area, and walk-in closet are located to ensure privacy and capture views of the rear yard. Additionally, a Suite accessed from the first-floor hall provides perfect accommodations for guests or staff. With three additional bedrooms upstairs and a finished lower level, this exceptional home presents the perfect setting for entertaining —and relaxing.
